Geneva Motor Show 2011 becomes the event that would always be remembered by cars-lover everywhere. This show mark the unveiled the Alfa Romeo 4C, the compact supercar said to represent Alfa's values of performance, Italian-ness and technical excellence aimed at maximum driving pleasure in total safety. What this means is an achingly beautiful sports car with added hand gestures and instant cool.
Inspired by 8C model, the 4C GTA being design more forward in focusing on weight reduction. The concept is powered by a “4 cylinder” 1750 Turbo Petrol Engine that enable this beauty hit 62mph in under five and delivers an impressive 200 HP that sprints the car to an impressive 155 mph.
Due to extensive use of carbon fiber the concept weight only 850 kilos. The chassis supports a body crafted completely from carbon, inside which there is space for the driver and passenger, while the rear frame structure and the crash boxes use aluminum extensively. This layout has improved the vehicle’s center of gravity offering an increased agility and drivability on the most challenging roads.
I think what’s most exciting about this concept is that it would make it to the production and will be offered on the US market in late 2012.
